About the conference

The “Fossil Insects – Bridging Past and Present” conference is organised on the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the Palaeoentomological Section of the Polish Entomological Society. We would like to show you the significance of Polish palaeoentomology on the global research stage. This event is also a remarkable opportunity to promote research on fossil insects, both those preserved as impressions and inclusions in resins – particularly in Baltic amber, Poland’s national treasure.
Containing excellently preserved insect inclusions, Baltic amber constitutes a unique study material, enabling precise analysis of the structure of extinct organisms and providing exceptional paleontological data.
The Conference is aimed at all scientists, students, and PhD students concerned with palaeoentomology. Participants will have the opportunity to gain insight on the research potential of Polish scientists, as well as to become acquainted with the precious resources that include Baltic amber, and discover the advanced technology used in paleontological research.

The Conference has been financed by the programme “Excellent Science II” of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland
